Stella McCartney Spring 2014

Stella McCartney presented her Spring (aka Resort) 2014 collection a couple of days ago. As usual, you can count on Stella to throw lovely garden parties for the brand's spring presentations - the girl knows a thing or two about putting on a show!
The event was held in the beautiful Jefferson Market Garden in New York City where the designer was of course accompanied by her closest friends: Cameron Díaz, Liv Tyler, Amy Poehler, Kate Bosworth and even Madonna herself were just some of the A-list celebrities that didn't want to miss the party. The clothes were just as lovely as the setting, with the yellow and brown snakeprint being the star of the collection. Here you have a some photos:

Sex and the City turns 15!

Sex and the City premiered exactly 15 years ago today, (can you believe it?) and, although it ended nearly 10 years ago, one can't forget about this amazing show. The girls, the city, the fashion, the sex... The series will always remind one of my favourite as it gave me a lot of great moments and made my fall in love with Sarah Jessica Parker, who is my most beloved celebrity nowadays. SATC was actually the first show I was obsessed with and, despite starting to watch it just before the first movie, I never felt it was old-fashioned. To celebrate this date, I've been collecting some facts about the show that you might not know but are actually quite funny and curious. Here they are:

Beautiful photos of the MET Gala

Gerard Butler and Alexa Chung sharing a piece of cake at the after party.
You are probably too tired of seeing photos of the MET Gala but it's my favourite event of the year so I couldn't miss the chance to write about it. This year's theme was all about punk and couture so I was delighted to see how celebrities recreate that trend on the red carpet. After watching photos of the guests over and over again I must say Sarah Jessica Parker was my favourite (very surprising, huh?). I also loved Diane Kruger (forever flawless), Amanda Seyfried, Rooney Mara and Anne Hathaway. Vogue has posted some beautiful and funny photos from the red carpet, inside the gala and the after party on its website, and I just picked my favourites. Here you have a taste:

Stranger than Paradise

W Magazine has created this amazing editorial for its May issue featuring the androgynous-looking Tilda Swinton photographed by the fantastic Tim Walker. Tilda wears the most stunning and fashion forward pieces in a surrealistic story located in Las Pozas, a tropical rain forest in Mexico created by Edward James. James was a Scottish poet who first arrived in Mexico in the early 1940s and wanted to build a Garden of Eden and thought that the country was the most perfect and romantic place for that. The rainforest, which is more than 320,000 m2, includes natural waterfalls and pools interlaced with Surrealistic sculptures (he was a big fan of this art movement). Actually, to pay for it, James had to sell his collection of Surrealistic art to auction. Photographer Tim Walker first heard of Las Pozas from model Jasmine Guinness (granddaughter of James) and, when the art director Jerry Stafford suggested to go there for Tilda's shoot, Walker wanted to include references to James' early life in England and his art collection in the photographies. Here's the result of this beautiful editorial which I'm sure will blow your minds.

Awesome people hanging out together

Two of my favourite artists, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dalí.
Just a quick post to cheer up your Friday while you wait for the weekend. I recently discovered this amazing Tumblr called Awesome people hanging out together about (awesome) celebrities photographed together. From artists and singers such as Madonna and David Bowie to actors, designers and other well-known people from now and then. Because we love to see famous people together, here are some of my favourite photos:

The Rachel Zoe Project

I started watching The Rachel Zoe Project a few days ago and I'm totally obsessed with it. I used to dislike Rachel a lot because of everything that went on between she and Nicole Richie (tabloids said that the stylist gave diet pills to Nicole to lose weight, etc) but now that I got to know her through the show I changed my mind. I don't think anyone knows what really happened between them but themselves but that's another story that I don't want to talk about. So, back to the show, it's making me love Rachel so much because she is extremely passionate about her job. She works her ass off for her clients and tries to get them the best dresses no matter how hard she has to work. I believe not everyone could handle a job like this because it's so much pressure and stress but she is the best at what she does so I guess everything has a price. Of course since it's a reality show she's sometimes a bit of a drama queen and overdoes things but the woman totally dies for fashion. I love it when, after days of sleepless nights and crazy fittings, she gets so emotional when she sees the final result of her work and it turns out to be amazing. She knows what she likes and what she doesn't like and does her best so her clients look ba-na-nas at every event. She once even asked Karl Lagerfeld to modify a Chanel Haute Couture gown because she thought it would look better on Cameron Díaz without a sleeve (really, who asks Mr. Lagerfeld to modify a dress?). The result turned out to be amazing and Cameron shut it down. This is only one of the many crazy things she does to get what she wants and I admire her passion and how hard-working she is. So if you haven't watched the show yet I think you should give it a go because it will make you fall in love with her and her flared jeans (she must be the only person who, in a sea of skinny jeans, wears flared ones). Besides, she has some hilarious moments and things that make you think wtf? but she is Rachel Zoe after all.   Here are some:

Dior Fall 2013: Beauty, Backstage and Runway Venue

One of my recents discovers on Tumblr is the official tumblr of Dior. I ran into it a few weeks ago while browsing the social network and fell in love immediatly. It features beautiful photos and gifs of the latests campaigns as well as behind the scenes and backstage shoots. There is also a sneak peek at the recently launched exhibit 'Dior at Harrods' which includes pieces from the archives of the Dior house. My favourite part though, are the beautiful photos and gifs from the Fall 2013 show. I haven't been very keen on Raf Simon's job at Dior but his latest collection was so gorgeous I changed my mind. Simons was inspired by Andy Warhol's early drawings with the famous spidery shoe embossed on bags as well as his portraits of women on peplum tops or a bustier dress. It's not a secret that the belgian designer loves art, he was also inspired by Pablo Picasso back in his Jil Sander days so this is nothing new. In the beauty department, I loved the hot pink lippie and the silver eye shadow which gave a very futuristic vibe to the collection. Here are some of my favourite snaps and gifs:
